
The MHS Band Program will be in the Eastern U.S. Regional Qualifying Round of the 2025 World Association of Marching & Show Bands Competition in WV May 14-18. Concert Band Competition is May 15 & Marching Band and Percussion Competitions May 16 & 17. Congratulations to all!


Due to the inclement weather from Tropical Storm Debby, Rockingham County Schools will be closed today, August 9th. Day care will be open and operate on schedule. All athletics and school activities can resume at 12:00pm today.

In anticipation of hazardous weather conditions from Tropical Storm Debby and out of an abundance of caution, all Rockingham County Schools will be closed Thursday, August 8th. All school activities, child care, and summer feeding & meal distributions are cancelled as well.

Rockingham County Schools is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Debby and, at this time, will continue operating our schools and offices on our normal schedule. If weather conditions deteriorate, we will communicate changes to our school and office schedule as soon as possible. You can receive information regarding weather related delays, early dismissal and cancellations via our website, mobile app and local media outlets. Please take this time to ensure your child(s) school has updated emergency phone numbers and emails.

Rockingham County Schools has been awarded a grant from the Department of Environmental Quality through the VW Grant program! This grant enabled Rockingham County Schools to acquire a new International Diesel Activity bus from White’s International which will help us better serve the needs of our students and staff.
