Rockingham County Schools is excited to announce Dr. Leslie Blair Coleman-Cassell as the new Director of Elementary Education.
Dr. Cassell is an esteemed member of Rockingham County Schools and has served the students and community of Rockingham County since 2005. Cassell has been employed with Rockingham County Schools serving in several capacities: classroom teacher at Douglass Elementary; instructional coach and assistant principal at Moss Street; principal at Moss Street Elementary and Williamsburg Elementary; and presently as the Director of School Nutrition.
Dr. Cassell earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Political Science in 2005 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Additionally, in 2010 Cassell attended Averett University where she earned a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2012, Cassell obtained her Educational Leadership Add-On Licensure from High Point University. Completing her academic pursuits, Cassell attended High Point University and earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2017.
In the coming weeks, Dr. Cassell will be transitioning from her current role of Director of School Nutrition to Director of Elementary Education.
