Christopher Higgs is a Rockingham County native who graduated from Morehead High School. Mr. Higgs then attended Lee University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Higgs earned his Business and Marketing Education License from North Carolina State University. Higgs continued his education at Liberty University earning his Master in Education Administration and Supervision.
Mr. Higgs has taught Career and Technical Education (CTE) at various schools in the county over the course of his eleven years of experience in education. Higgs began his career as a STEM/STEAM teacher at Western Rockingham Middle School before moving to the high school level teaching courses including Business and Marketing Education in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Principles of Business and Finance, Personal Finance, Career Management, and Sports Marketing. While working in CTE, Mr. Higgs also served as a Career Development Coordinator (CDC) and earned his Curriculum Instruction Management Coordinator (CIMC) License. Furthermore, Mr. Higgs has eleven years of coaching experience in Wrestling, Football, Baseball, Track, and Cross-Country.
Higgs says, “I have enjoyed coming back to McMichael High School and working alongside Mr. Kemp and Mr. Edrington as part of the school administrative team. I look forward to building relationships with the students and staff, and positively impacting the Phoenix School Community.”
