RCS would like to invite our community to attend the RCS District Science Fair on Thursday, December 5th at Osborne Baptist Church in Eden. Elementary students will present projects from 8:30 - 11:00am with awards presented at 11am and secondary students will present projects from 11:30am - 2pm with awards presented at 2pm!


This Thanksgiving, let's give thanks for the teachers who inspire us, the staff who support us, the parents & guardians who guide us and the students who light up our schools. Together, we make a difference every day. 🦃 Grateful for our RCS families & team! Happy Thanksgiving!!


Our winter break countdown starts next week!


Our Winter Break Countdown begins on Monday, December 2nd and goes through Friday, December 20th.


On November 20, 2024 the RCS Board of Education Policy Committee Meeting will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 am and the RCS Board of Education Meeting will be held at 10:00am at the RCS Administrative Offices , 511 Harrington Highway, Eden, NC .


RCS is actively recruiting bus drivers! Bus drivers can work full time or as little as 3 hours a day. More information can be found at the link: https://rockinghamnc.ted.peopleadmin.com/hire/index.aspx


We enjoyed seeing all of the science fair projects this morning and extremely proud of all the hard work that went into creating these projects.

Our fifth graders, as well as a few third and fourth graders, participated in the Monroeton Science Fair today! There were so many amazing science projects! There were several creative and innovative projects, but five students were chosen to move on to the District Science Fair. Congratulations to the following students from each category:
Physics- Brooks Barker, “Does Air Pressure Affect Kicking Distance?”
Chemistry- Maddison Marshall, “How Many Drops Till it Pops?”
Engineering- Kendall Smith, “Stanley vs. Yeti?”
Earth Science- London Andre, “Water Filtration”
Biological Sciences- Kensleigh Meeks, “Who Has the Cleaner Mouth? Me or the Dog?”
These students were judged on scientific quality, creativity, and presentation. We know they will represent us well!

Grades 3-5 will take check in's next week. Tuesday, November 19th students will take reading and Wednesday, November 20th students will take math.


Our Veterans Appreciation Event is this Friday, November 8th from 7:20-8:20 in the Monroeton Media Center.


The RCS Board of Education will conduct special called meeting on Friday, November 8, 2024. The BOE will immediately move to closed session. The agenda can be found at http://www.boarddocs.com/nc/rock/Board.nsf

Reminder for RCS families - November 5, 2024 is an optional teacher workday and no school for students. Also, this is election day and we encourage all eligible members of the RCS community to exercise their right to vote.

There is no school for students on Tuesday, November 5th.


Bring Your Own Tech/Board Game Day is Friday, November 1 for all students that returned their first quarter reading log.

Shout out to Jason at Signs and Trophies for adding some Mustang Pride to our vestibule doors. The students and staff are going to love it when they enter each morning!


RCS is hosting a RockATOP Apprenticeship Community Night Tuesday, October 29, 2024 beginning at 6pm at the Rockingham County Economic Development Small Business & Tourism Building. This event is open to all Rockingham County students regardless of school.
