Rockingham County Schools pairs with Rockingham County Public Libraries to help students check out library materials. This is available at all Rockingham County Public Libraries and the Bookmobile. You will need your child's student ID/lunch number for check out.
This is a great way to find a variety of books for your child to enjoy.
Due to the heavy rainfall, localized flooding and isolated road closures, Rockingham County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, September 18th, Staff are to report at normal time, unless unsafe to do so.
Reading Log Reminder:
All reading logs with 35 books read are due to your child’s teacher by Friday, October 25th. To be able to participate in this incentive, your child must have a reading log turned in by the due date.

Remaining family shop hours are tonight from 5:00-7:00 and Friday morning from 7:20-7:45.
Your child will have one more opportunity on Friday to shop during their grade level time if they bring money. The book fair will close at 11:20 for clean up.
Parents are invited to hear about Monroeton's Battle of the Books program. The meeting will be in the media center beginning at 3:15.
All third grade students will take the Beginning of Grade test tomorrow, 9/10.

We enjoyed meeting our newest mustangs on Thursday at our Kindergarten Open House. Thank you to our wonderful PTO for hosting the “popsicles on the playground” meet and greet alongside Open House.
Monroeton Elementary got off to a great start for the first day of school. We were so glad to see new and familiar faces returning for another great year of learning.
RCS is experiencing technical issues with our bus application EDULOG and we are working on the issues. We will continue to provide updates as they are available and appreciate your patience & understanding.
Please see Monroeton Elementary's K-5 Reading Incentive. All K-5 students can participate in this incentive during each 9 weeks. We have planned four exciting incentives to get students excited about reading. The goal is to read and log 35 books per nine weeks at home and return the reading log to your child's teacher. Please note, to participate in the fourth incentive, Book Bash Water Day, students must reach all four incentives.
