"The 4:35 NOA forecast has possible snow in the a.m. with accumulation between 2 and 4 p.m. Given this would not give us enough time to get students home if we did an early release, I have decided to make tomorrow an optional workday. We WILL have childcare available but will monitor throughout the day. "

We want to congratulate our Science Fair participants from last Friday’s District Science Fair. All seven of our groups earned medals and we have six teams that will move on to compete in the Regional Science Fair. Way to go Mustangs!
Our HMS Chorus and Band will have their Winter Concerts this week. Chorus will have their concert on Tuesday, December 9 and Band will have their concert on Thursday, December 11. Both concerts will be held in the Morehead High School Auditorium at 7:00pm. Please come out and support our chorus and band students on Tuesday and Thursday!
Our PTSO fundraiser trampoline park reward has been rescheduled to Friday, December 12. Parents , please make sure you have completed the waiver and permission slip for the trampoline park for your child to attend.

Mrs. Morehead-Rettig’s class made Rube Goldbergs to study simple machines. Students used wooden blocks, tracks, cardboard, cups, bottles, and paper tracks to create their machines!

Candy Fundraiser Prizes
We will be doing our candy sale prizes the first week of December. If you have not fully paid all outstanding money you will not be able to participate in any prizes. For those that sold 4 boxes we will be going to the trampoline park on December 5th. Teachers were given the permission slips this week to send home with those students. They will need to be returned before December 3rd. You will need to go to https://highpoint.getairmanagement.com/GroupWaiver.html to fill out the wavier prior to the trip. The slap hands and Dj Party and Kona Ice will all be on December 4th.

This is a time when we feel it is important to give back to our extended family, friends, and community. This luncheon is FREE to anyone who wishes to come celebrate Thanksgiving with the Church Street Family.

Come pick up your child's progress report and talk with teachers. Enjoy performances by the HMS band and chorus. Science Fair presentations will be held in the media center. Information on how to help your middle schooler study and stay organized will be handed out.
