Huntsville Elementary is already off to a great reading journey this year! We kicked off the year with a FREE book giveaway beginning at Open House and running through Sept. 27th! Books paired with stuffed animals were scooped up at Open House and created excitement for at-home reading. Shelves outside the Library doors were also full of books wanting readers. This ongoing book giveaway is open to all in the Huntsville Elementary Family.
For every BARK book finished, participants turned in a BARK bookmark signed by a parent that even included a chance to give a star rating. Small prizes were given out to participants. As a bonus, participants were entered in drawings for a FREE book from the Scholastic Book Fair, Sept. 20th-27th. Over 75 Huntsville families have participated thus far, with students from several grade levels reading multiple books. Congratulations to Libby A, a 1st Grader, and Eva F. a 2nd Grader, winners of a FREE book fair book!
BARK Curriculum Night also received a visit from the Rockingham County Public Libraries Mobile Library, also known as the Bookmobile! Families learned of the reciprocal borrowing agreement between RCS and RCPL, registered for Library cards, and even picked out cool prizes and free books offered by RCPL.
Let's keep reading, Hounds!
