Good evening, Leaksville-Spray families. This is Ms. Scales with your weekly message. 5th grade parents, Future Mustang Night is scheduled for Tuesday March 11th beginning at 6:00 pm. Please be sure you make plans to attend to learn important information about HMS classes and registration. Our next PTO meeting will be this Thursday, March 13th beginning at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. Everyone is welcome to attend. LSE is working to support local agencies with the Annual County Food Drive. Students and families can bring donations to the school. Our school goal is to collect 1,000 items to donate. We are off to a great start. Please continue to help us support our community. Go ahead and mark your calendars. We will host our Title I Student Success Night on Thursday, March 20th from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Students have been working hard to complete projects to share with families on this night. Rockingham County Schools will be hosting the 32nd annual Elementary All -County Chorus at Western Rockingham Middle School tonight at 6pm and the doors will be open at 5:30pm. There is no cost for admission, but donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. Students from elementary schools all across Rockingham County have been working very hard preparing for this amazing event. Under the direction of Dr. Brett Nolker and accompanied by Ed Spencer, students will work together to transform 5 pieces of music into a beautiful performance for the community to enjoy.

Don't forget! Tomorrow night (Tuesday, 2/25/25) is our Title I Guiding Stars Night at Food Lion on South Van Buren from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm! Students will learn about the Guiding Stars nutrition program and have an opportunity to win prizes. Parents and families will also have an opportunity to walk away with prizes. We can’t wait to see you on Tuesday at this event! An adult must be present with children. We will also be kicking off our Food Drive tomorrow night! Students can start dropping off donations as they leave from our Food Lion Guiding Stars Night. Starting tomorrow, bring in canned foods to your homeroom for collection! The food collected is divided among various agencies to serve those experiencing food insecurity in Rockingham County. Donation deadline is March 26th! The top class who brings in the most cans will earn a hat day. The top grade level who brings in the most cans will earn a pajama day.
