Good evening, Leaksville-Spray families. This is Ms. Scales with your weekly message. Our school wide candy bar fundraiser will come to an end on Tuesday, September 24. Please turn in all money by Tuesday. Remember, no candy bars will be taken back. Thank you for supporting LSE. There is a scheduled Early Release Day on Friday, September 27. Students will be released at 12:45pm on Friday. Our first Title 1 Curriculum Parent Night will be Thursday, October 3 from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Please go ahead and mark your calendar as you will receive information regarding the expectations of teaching and learning here at Leaksville-Spray Elementary. Our Book Fair will also be open for our families to shop. Please remember that Rockingham County Schools will continue to require approved background checks for any chaperone or volunteer within our school and field trips. All background checks are handled online, including payment, no money is sent to school. More information about background checks can be found on our district’s website. This information is important as most of our grade levels have field trips scheduled during the fall semester. Lastly, please remember our school doors will open for all students at 7:20am. Our tardy bell rings at 7:45am each morning. Students arriving late to school must be signed in by a parent at our front desk. We are looking forward to another amazing week! If your child would like to participate, please send in a permission slip to the school. Thank you to those who have already participated in this fundraiser. Our chocolate bar fundraiser will end this Friday, September 20. All money is due this Friday. There is a PTO meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 17 at 5:30pm. Please consider attending this meeting as we will discuss events for this school year. PTO will be hosting a Skate Night at the Roll-a-Bout on Thursday, September 19 from 5:30PM-7:30PM. The cost is $8.00 which includes skate rental. Please remember that students must be accompanied by an adult to attend. Good evening, Leaksville-Spray families. This is Ms. Scales with your weekly message. Attention 3rd Grade parents, your child will be taking the beginning of grade 3 assessment on Tuesday, September 10th. We will begin testing at 8:30 am. Please be sure that your child gets a good night’s sleep and is on time. We will kick off our school-wide candy bar fundraiser on Monday. If your child has returned a permission slip, they will receive a box of candy on Monday. If you would like for your child to participate in the fundraiser, please be sure to return the form to school this week. Remember unsold boxes or individual candy bars cannot be returned. Thank you for your continued support of LSE. We will have vision and hearing screenings this week on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13. If your child wears glasses, please make sure they bring them on the screening days. If you want to opt out of screening, please contact Nurse Shelton. Our first Title 1 Curriculum Parent Night will be Thursday, October 3 from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
