This week our school wrapped up our one school, one book reading of The Wild Robot. This week's photo challenge was to find somewhere new to read/listen to the story. It was so fun getting some of our kiddos pictures!

We are loving our schoolwide read aloud of The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. This week’s photo challenge was to get outdoors and read since the story takes place outside. We loved seeing the different places our school families visited! 🖤

We are so proud of our Central Elementary students with Colossal Character. These students were recognized for exhibiting CUBS behavior on the school bus!


We are so proud of our students, along with those around the county, who were selected to sing in our All-County Chorus.
Thank you Ms. Huss for preparing our students well!


Rockingham County Schools will be hosting the 32nd annual Elementary All -County Chorus at Western Rockingham Middle School tonight at 6pm and the doors will be open at 5:30pm. There is no cost for admission, but donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. Students from elementary schools all across Rockingham County have been working very hard preparing for this amazing event. Under the direction of Dr. Brett Nolker and accompanied by Ed Spencer, students will work together to transform 5 pieces of music into a beautiful performance for the community to enjoy.


We kicked off our One school, One book program this week. Families received their copies of the book The Wild Robot. This week's photo challenge was to send in a picture of who all was reading. We've loved seeing families read with their parents, siblings, pets, grandparents, and other extended family!




Morehead's Beta Club members came by to read with some of our kindergarten friends. Mrs. Beckner's class loved having Miss Megan as a guest reader.


As a reminder the 15th Annual Catch the Reading Bug Community Reading Festival is Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 9 am - 2pm at Rockingham County Middle School!
