McMichael AFJROTC Boosters
The McMichael AFJROTC Boosters organization provides financial support for AFJROTC programs and activities beyond the level of funding provided by the United States Air Force budget.
Membership fee: None
Projects:
The Freedom Foundation fundraiser is the primary source of support for AFJROTC. Cadets solicit sponsorships from family and friends through a mail-based program.
AFJROTC students sell “The Card,” for $10.00 each. “The Card” can be used at local restaurants and businesses to receive discounts for goods and services.
Booster funds were used to build an office area within the AFJROTC classroom which is used by cadet leaders. Booster funds are also used to supplement expenses for AFJROTC field trips.
Meetings:
AFJROTC Boosters business is conducted during the weekly Corps meetings each Wednesday after school.
McMichael Athletic Family Pass
McMichael Athletics offers a family pass to all IMMEDIATE family members in a household. Each family member must show their card at events in order to enter games. The family pass is used to encourage and support to athletic teams and student athletes at McMichael High School.
$175 per year
Admission to all regular season athletic events held at McMichael High School (NCHSAA regulations prevent the use of this privilege at tournament games).
McMichael Band Boosters
The McMichael Band Boosters organization is actively involved our school’s band program. In addition to providing financial support, Band Boosters are actively involved as chaperones and field crews for competitions and performances. Membership is open to all McMichael parents, as well as members of the community.
Meetings:
Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the band room.

Projects:
The Band Boosters sponsor the Phoenix Festival of Bands each fall as their primary fund raising event. Marching bands from North Carolina and Virginia converge on the McMichael campus to participate in musical and marching competition, providing an afternoon of exciting entertainment for Western Rockingham County!
An annual fruit sale is conducted in October and November each year. Members take orders for fresh citrus fruits and pecans which are delivered in early December, in time for holiday use and baking! Contact any Band Booster member or call the school in October to place an order.
McMichael Choral Boosters
The McMichael Choral Boosters organization actively supports our school’s choral program. In addition to providing financial support, the Choral Boosters serve as chaperones, act as assistants for performances, and provide help at festivals and community events. Membership is open to all McMichael parents, as well as members of the community.

Meetings:
Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. at Rio Grande in Madison.

Phoenix Pride
Our parent, teacher, student organization that has been created to support our students throughout the school year.
School Improvement Team (SIT)
G.S. §115C-47 (38) mandates the duty of local boards to ensure each principal establishes a school improvement team and that the composition of the team complies with G.S. §115C-105.27 (a).
G.S. §115C-105.27 (a) also directs schools to establish a School Improvement Team (SIT) to develop a plan to improve student performance. School improvement teams shall consist of the following members:
the principal of the school;
representatives of the assistant principals;
representatives of instructional personnel;
representatives of instructional support personnel;
representatives of teacher assistants assigned to the building;
representatives of parents of children enrolled in the school.
Representatives of the assistant principals, instructional personnel, instructional support personnel, and teacher assistants shall be elected by their respective groups by secret ballot. Participation in the school improvement planning process by the personnel noted above is a legal requirement.
