The National Education Association's Read Across America Day is an annual reading
motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every
community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved
children's author Dr. Seuss.
Moss Street students and staff celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday all week with various dress-up days and activities related to Dr. Seuss books. Monday was "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" day and everyone was asked to wear red and blue. Tuesday was "Fox in Socks" day and we celebrated by wearing crazy socks! On Wednesday everyone wore green in honor of "green Eggs and Ham." Thursday's dress up day was Twin Day to celebrate Thing 1 and Thing 2 from "The Cat in the Hat." We wrapped up the week by wearing hats on Friday in honor of the book "The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins."
