Student Health Coordinator
The Student Health Coordinator works to coordinate health and wellness efforts throughout the district that impact student achievement and academic success. The Student Health Coordinator is guided by the SHAC (School Health Advisory Council), which is comprised of educators, parents, students, healthcare representatives and members of community organizations. There are ten major components set forth by the Centers for the Disease Control & Prevention that the Student Health Coordinator addresses; Health Education, Physical Education, Health Services, Child Nutrition, Counseling & Psychological Services, Healthy School Environment, and Family and Community Involvement. One of the major responsibilities includes directing the Fitness and Nutrition Initiative provided through Rockingham County Schools and Reidsville Area Foundation.
